Our consultants can work one-on-one with your students for any writing assignment, and we have found that faculty recommendation of our services is the primary motivator for student attendance in the Writing Center.
Our consultants come from a variety of disciplines and professional backgrounds, and they are all trained to work with an array of genres and writing styles. While we can't claim to be experts in every field, there are certain conventions universal to "good" writing that our consultants are experienced in identifying and explaining. It's a good idea to think of us as audience-testers: Even if we are not familiar with the topic, we can still tell you if your ideas are coming across clearly and effectively.
